escape to adventure!
CLASS II-IV RAFTING ON THE RED DEER RIVERJoin Mukwah Rafting for the adventure of a lifetime as we guide you through the class II-IV rapids of the upper Red Deer River. Trips leave from our base camp nestled at the base of Mount Minos and Dormer mountain overlooking the Panther River. The day starts with a float to the red deer river. This part of the trip provides time for guests to learn basic paddle commands and how to move the raft as a team before throwing our rafts over a waterfall and into a staircase of rapids. After your initial whitewater introduction we break on a beach for lunch and optional cliff jump (water levels depending). The rest of our time on the water is spent surfing, splashing and blasting through numerous rapids as we navigate through the Red Deer Rivers most treacherous waters. Our time on the water ends when we see our bus and head back to base where we end the day.

ADDITIONAL INFO
All trips leave equipped with safety equipment in the event of an emergency. Equipment including First Aid Kits, Throw Ropes, Satellite Phone, Spare Paddling Gear, extra clothing and additional safety gear.
Guides hold up to date guiding certifications with either the Professional Rafters outfitters Association of Alberta or the International Rafters Federation. Guides are also trained in Wilderness First Aid and Swift Water Rescue to ensure an immediate and educated response in the event of any emergency.
We provide all of the safety and submersion gear you will need for your expedition. Guests only need to bring something thin to wear underneath your wetsuit, a bottle of water and some snacks.
Dry bags are also available for guests who wish to bring items they are looking to keep dry on the water such as cameras, medications etc. Although dry bags do improve the chances of bringing your items back safely, their return is not guaranteed. A great thing to consider when thinking about bringing additional items is do I absolutely need this, because it can’t fall in the water if it doesn't go on the water.
